Scaling Relations for Solar-Like Oscillations: A Review
The scaling relations for solar-like oscillations provide a translation of the features of the stochastic low-degree modes of oscillation in the Sun to predict the features of solar-like oscillations in other stars with convective outer layers.

Quasi-periodic oscillations of GHz-band polarization in a black hole [PDF]
Relativistic jets from accreting black holes radiate non-thermal emission which is highly variable in different time scales. Previous studies on black holes of different mass scales, including supermassive and stellar-mass black holes, only report flux ...

Stellar oscillations and stellar convection in the presence of an Urca shell [PDF]
The problem of damping of stellar oscillations in presence of a Urca shell is solved analytically in a plane symmetrical approximation. Low-amplitude oscillations are considered. Oscillatory pressure perturbations induce beta reactions of the electron capture and decay in the thin layer around the Urca shell, leading to damping of oscillations.

Detecting and confirming terrestrial planets is incredibly difficult due to their tiny size and mass relative to Sun-like host stars. However, recent instrumental advancements are making the detection of Earth-like exoplanets technologically feasible ...

Asteroseismology of Close Binary Stars: Tides and Mass Transfer
The study of stellar oscillations allows us to infer the properties of stellar interiors. Meanwhile, fundamental parameters such as mass and radius can be obtained by studying stars in binary systems. The synergy between binarity and asteroseismology can

Solar-Like Oscillators in the Kepler Era: A Review
Many late-type stars across the Milky Way exhibit observable pulsations similar to our Sun that open up a window into stellar interiors. The NASA Kepler mission, a space-based photometric telescope, measured the micro-magnitude luminosity fluctuations ...

Stellar 5 min oscillations [PDF]
AbstractEstimates are given for the amplitudes of stochastically excited oscillations in Main Sequence stars and cool giants; these were obtained using the equipartition between convective and pulsational energy which was originally proposed by Goldreich and Keeley.

Topological Modes in Stellar Oscillations
Abstract Stellar oscillations can be of topological origin. We reveal this deep and so far hidden property of stars by establishing a novel parallel between stars and topological insulators. We construct an Hermitian problem to derive the expression of the stellar acoustic–buoyant frequency S of nonradial adiabatic pulsations.

An Oscillator Model for Stellar Variability [PDF]
AbstractThe dependence of coupling constants in a coupled oscillator model is examined with simplified methods. The Lyapunov exponents are preliminary introduced for the model. The behaviors of oscillator model are examined in a parameter plane. So-called the Arnold’s tongues for phase-locking states are observed in fractal patterns.
