The measurement of sap movement in xylem sapwood tissue using heat pulse velocity sap flow instruments has been commonly used to estimate plant transpiration. In this study, sap flow sensors (SFM1) based on the heat ratio method (HRM) were used to assess

Identification of the water stress level in olive trees during pit hardening using the trunk growth rate indicator. [PDF]
Water scarcity is generating an increasing interest in deficit irrigation scheduling. The trunk diameter fluctuations are daily cycles that have been suggested as tools for irrigation scheduling.

Assessment of discretely measured indicators and maximum daily trunk shrinkage for detecting water stress in pomegranate trees [PDF]
Measurements obtained by the continuous monitoring of trunk diameter fluctuations were comparedwith discrete measurements of midday stem water potential and midday leaf conductance (gl)in adult pomegranate trees (Punica granatum L. cv.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Influence of topography and moisture and nutrient availability on green alder function on the low arctic tundra, NT [PDF]
The Arctic has warmed by at least 3°C over the past 50 years and this rapid warming is expected to continue. Climate warming is driving the proliferation of shrubs across the tundra biome with implications for energy balance, climate, hydrology, nutrient

Measurement of sap flow dynamics through the tomato peduncle using a non-invasive sensor based on the heat field deformation method [PDF]
Recent contradicting evidence on the contributions of xylem and phloem to tomato fruit growth highlights the need for a more thorough insight into the dynamics of sap flow through the tomato peduncle. In fact, knowledge on sap flow dynamics through small

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...
