Hydrodynamic Performance of Porpoises ( Stenella attenuata )
Science, 1966Two specimens of Stenella attenuata , trained to chase a winch-towed lure, reached a top speed of 11.03 meters per second (21.4 knots) in 2.0 seconds. The maximum power output, occurring 1.5 seconds after the start, was calculated from measured values of acceleration and drag coefficient.

Mammal Study, 2021
A female pantropical spotted dolphin (Stenella attenuata) successfully mated with a mature male in captivity on April 13, 2017. This mating event was followed by an evaluation of the plasma progesterone concentration, appetite, and rectum temperature of the dolphin during pregnancy.

The vocal repertoire of the pantropical spotted dolphin (Stenella attenuata) is poorly documented, with no published information about acoustic signals from South Atlantic Ocean populations. We conducted passive acoustic monitoring and recording of S. attenuata population in the Santos Basin, Brazil, using a towed hydrophone array during line-transects
