Hemodynamics of Stent Implantation Procedures in Coronary Bifurcations: an in vitro study [PDF]
Stent implantation in coronary bifurcations presents unique challenges and currently there is no universally accepted stent deployment approach. Despite clinical and computational studies, to date, the effect of each stent implantation method on the coronary artery hemodynamics is not well understood.

Mitigation of the Turbulence within an Arteriovenous Fistula with a Stent Implantation [PDF]
The transitional flow which initiates within the junction (anastomosis) of an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is known to be a contributing factor in the onset of vascular disease. A novel treatment method involving the implantation of a flexible stent across the anastomosis has enabled the retention of a large proportion of functioning AVFs, despite the ...

Effects of temporal and spatiotemporal cues on detection of dynamic road hazards
While driving, dangerous situations can occur quickly, and giving drivers extra time to respond may make the road safer for everyone. Extensive research on attentional cueing in cognitive psychology has shown that targets are detected faster when ...

A Fast Method of Virtual Stent Graft Deployment for Computer Assisted EVAR [PDF]
In this paper we introduce a new method simulating stent graft deployment for assisting endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms. The method relies on intraoperative images coupled with mechanical models. A multi-step algorithm has been developed to increase the reliability of simulations.
