Successful endoscopic management of a pediatric intrapancreatic common bile duct stricture following blunt pancreatic trauma: A case report

open access: yesJPGN Reports, Volume 7, Issue 2, Page 366-369, May 2026.
Abstract Pancreatic and biliary tract injuries from blunt abdominal trauma are rare in children. Common bile duct (CBD) strictures secondary to pancreatic trauma are even more uncommon, and management traditionally involves surgery. We report a 9‐year‐old boy who developed a severe distal intrapancreatic CBD stricture after blunt pancreatic trauma ...

Autogenous Lateral Saphenous Vein and Fascia Lata Grafts Used in the Repair of Ureteral Defects in Dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Autologous grafts using lateral saphenous vein demonstrated effective ureteral reconstruction in canine cadavers, with shorter procedural times and fewer complications than fascia lata grafts. Leakage and handling issues limited the performance of fascia lata prostheses.

Enhancing the vase life of cut roses through spectral optimisation during greenhouse cultivation

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 188, Issue 3, Page 656-673, May 2026.
Here, we examined three red‐to‐blue (R:B) light emitting diode (LED) ratios (90:10, 80:20 and 70:30) in two cut rose cultivars. All treatments enhanced photosynthesis, with 90:10 showing the strongest effects—raising chlorophyll, carotenoids, anthocyanins and carbohydrate levels, and extending vase life by up to 30%.

Estimating Vascular Age to Evaluate the Association Between Aging and Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 5, May 2026.
The normalized cardiovascular age acceleration (NCAA) index is estimated using the Klemera‐Doubal method (KDM) based on annual physical examination records at Tongji Hospital in Wuhan, China. Vascular function‐based (basic) NCAA shows different associations with cardiometabolic risk factors by age and sex.
