Incomplete stent apposition and very late stent thrombosis after drug-eluting stent implantation

open access: yes, 2007
BACKGROUND: Stent thrombosis may occur late after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation, and its cause remains unknown. The present study investigated differences of the stented segment between patients with and without very late stent thrombosis with ...

Interface Wettability Transition‐Driven Drug Release and Dual‐Phase Functionalization in Implant Abutment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A temporally controlled drug release coating is developed for abutments using a superhydrophobic coating self‐assembled on mesoporous silica. This surface provides sequential functionality: initial contamination resistance through non‐wetting, followed by controlled drug release via wettability transition.

Combined laparoscopy and transabdominal endoscopy: Case report of dislodged oesophageal stent retrieval

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2011
The patient is a 39-year-old male with a five-month history of progressive dysphagia and a 70 lb weight loss. On upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy he was found to have a near-obstructing mass in the lower oesophagus that was proven by biopsy to be ...

Should duration of dual antiplatelet therapy depend on the type and/or potency of implanted stent? A pre-specified analysis from the PROlonging Dual antiplatelet treatment after Grading stent-induced Intimal hyperplasia studY (PRODIGY)

open access: yes, 2013
The purpose of this pre-specified analysis of the PROlonging Dual antiplatelet treatment after Grading stent-induced Intimal hyperplasia studY (PRODIGY) was to assess device-specific outcomes relative to different duration of dual antiplatelet therapy ...

Pathological Mechanism‐Inspired Biomimetic Nano‐Senotherapy for Reversing Experimental Atherosclerosis in ApoE−/− Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The biomimetic self‐assembly nanomedicine reversing atherosclerosis via senotherapy strategy. ABSTRACT The greatest challenge in atherosclerosis (AS) management lies in achieving lesion reversal, not merely slowing progression. Senescent cell accumulation—driven by continuous generation and apoptotic resistance—perpetuates plaque pathology and ...
