A retrospective cohort study comparing periodontal regeneration using fibroblast growth factor‐2 versus autologous bone graft

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Fibroblast growth factor‐2 (FGF‐2) is a novel agent utilized in periodontal regeneration therapy. However, its clinical efficacy compared with autologous bone graft (ABG), a long‐established treatment, remains unclear. This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of FGF‐2 and ABG and to assess the impact of patient background ...

Successful endoscopic management of a pediatric intrapancreatic common bile duct stricture following blunt pancreatic trauma: A case report

open access: yesJPGN Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Pancreatic and biliary tract injuries from blunt abdominal trauma are rare in children. Common bile duct (CBD) strictures secondary to pancreatic trauma are even more uncommon, and management traditionally involves surgery. We report a 9‐year‐old boy who developed a severe distal intrapancreatic CBD stricture after blunt pancreatic trauma ...

Whereas the gastrointestinal tract is enriched with lymphoid tissues, the ampulla of Vater is not rich in lymphoid tissue. Involvement of the ampulla of Vater with HL has rarely been reported in adults and has

Lateral Mucosal Flap With Steroid‐Eluting Implant in Revision Draf Type III Frontal Sinus Surgery

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This technical note introduces a novel endoscopic strategy that integrates a laterally based endonasal mucosal flap with a bioabsorbable steroid‐eluting implant to prevent restenosis following revision of Draf type III frontal sinus surgery.
