Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) occur when weakened areas of the abdominal aortic wall result in a ballooning of the blood vessel. Attributed risk factors include smoking, atherosclerosis and hypertension. Traditionally, AAAs were treated with open surgery, involving a large abdominal incision and the placement of a synthetic graft.

Stent-graft induced new entry tears after type B aortic dissection: how to treat and how to prevent?
Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 2018Progress of aortic disease after stent-graft treatment of aortic dissection includes the risk of stent graft-induced new entry (SINE). In this paper we review the incidence and mechanisms thought to be responsible for retrograde ascending and distal SINE
