Layer-by-layer biofabrication of coronary covered stents with clickable elastin-like recombinamers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Producción CientíficaCoronary artery disease is the leading cause of death around the world. Endovascular stenting is the preferred treatment option to restore blood flow in the coronary arteries due to the lower perioperative morbidity when compared ...

FPR2 Agonism Attenuates Restenosis by Mitigating Neointimal Hyperplasia via ELOVL6

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 17, 15 September 2025.
Restenosis after revascularization in lower extremity arterial disease remains a major unmet need. We demonstrate reduced formylpeptide receptor 2 (FPR2) expression in human restenotic arteries and demonstrate that FPR2 deficiency exacerbates neointimal hyperplasia.

Treatment of atherosclerotic renovascular hypertension: review of observational studies and a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
open9Atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis can cause ischaemic nephropathy and arterial hypertension. We herein review the observational and randomized clinical trials (RCTs) comparing medical and endovascular treatment for control of hypertension and ...

Red Blood Cell Membrane Lipidomics: Potential Biomarkers Detecting Method for Plasma Volume Overload and Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Chronic Heart Failure Patients

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 33, September 4, 2025.
A novel RBC indicator, ESI, is better than the traditional RBC indicators and is associated with CHF prevalence and in‐hospital death. RBC membrane lipidomics, Cer 18:0;O2/16:0, and LPE 18:0, are associated with plasma volume overload and MACE in CHF patients, but these plasma lipids could not.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme insertion/deletion polymorphism does not influence the restenosis rate after coronary stent implantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Background. Experimental studies have shown an activation of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) system as a response to endothelial injury. Recent publications have elucidated the hypothesis that the ACE gene polymorphism may influence the level of ...

Application of the Neuroform Atlas Stent for Intracranial Stenting of Symptomatic Intracranial Atherosclerotic Stenosis: A Multi‐Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
Intracranial stenting with the Neuroform Atlas stent is a potentially safe and effective treatment for symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (sICAS). It demonstrates a statistically significant difference in the caliber of the target artery before and after treatment as well as significantly improves the cerebral ischemic symptoms of ...

Design and testing of hydrophobic core/hydrophilic shell nano/micro particles for drug-eluting stent coating [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this study, we designed a novel drug-eluting coating for vascular implants consisting of a core coating of the anti-proliferative drug docetaxel (DTX) and a shell coating of the platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor monoclonal antibody SZ-21.

Cerebral Venous Thrombosis:Current Status and Challenges

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
Our review introduces treatment strategies for short‐term, long‐term, and permanent CVT risk factors, focusing on anticoagulant selection and treatment duration. We also discuss the current status of endovascular therapy for CVT, noting that it remains a challenge due to limited evidence, and more research is needed to optimize this approach.
