The elusive prediction of stent thrombosis

Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, 2017
Key Points Stent thrombosis is a rare PCI complication that occurs in approximately 1% of cases after successful PCI. In about 50% of cases ST occur after 30 days, and in 15% after 1 year. Lesion complexity and baseline presence of thrombus are angiographic predictors for ST and can potentially guide antithrombotic therapy.

Stenting of a cerebral venous thrombosis

Journal of Neuroradiology, 2010
Cerebral venous and sinus thrombosis (CVT) is a rare but potentially alarming condition, which remains a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Endovascular procedure may be a therapeutic option when evolution is unfavourable despite medical treatment, but the use of stenting is rarely reported in CVT treatment. We report the case of a man who presented

Pharmacotherapy for the reduction of stent thrombosis

Expert Review of Cardiovascular Therapy, 2013
The benefits of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) can be offset by periprocedural complications such as acute vessel closure and stent thrombosis in the absence of adequate antiplatelet and antithrombotic therapy. Additionally, conditions occurring after 30 days post-PCI, such as in-stent restenosis or late stent thrombosis can occur.
