Redox‐Responsive Mitochondrial Delivery from Functionalized Vascular Stent Surfaces

A redox‐responsive stent surface is engineered to deliver functional mitochondria in response to oxidative stress. Upon exposure to reactive oxygen species, grafted mitochondria are released, internalized by vascular cells, and restore mitochondrial function under stress.

Noradrenergic and cholinergic innervation of the normal human heart and changes associated with cardiomyopathy

Abstract Autonomic nerves are crucial in cardiac function and pathology. However, data on the distribution of cholinergic and noradrenergic nerves in normal and pathologic human hearts is lacking. Nonfailing donor hearts were pressure‐perfusion fixed, imaged, and dissected. Left ventricular cardiomyopathy samples were also obtained.

CYP2C19 genotype testing for clopidogrel: A guideline developed by the UK Centre of Excellence for regulatory science and innovation in pharmacogenomics (CERSI‐PGx)

Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent, is currently licensed in the United Kingdom for the prevention and treatment of atherothrombotic events in cerebrovascular disease, coronary artery disease and peripheral arterial disease. Clopidogrel requires metabolic activation by the cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP2C19 to be effective.
