Degradation Processes of Egyptian Faience Tiles in the Step Pyramid at Saqqara
AbstractThe tomb of King Djoser (2667-2648 B.C) at Saqqara known as the Step Pyramid was the first Egyptian pyramid tomb and the earliest stone building of its size in the world. Some of the walls of the substructure of the Step Pyramid and the so-called “Southern Tomb” were covered with panels of blue-green faience tiles.

Generating Method of Visual Word Bag Model Based on Binary Hashing and Space Pyramid [PDF]
Constructing visual vocabulary in the Bag of Visual Word(BoVW) model is a critical step, most visual vocabulary is generated by the k-means algorithm or its improved algorithm.Because of the limitation of the k-means algorithm and the complexity and the ...

Fringe Projection Method for 3D High-Resolution Reconstruction of Oil Painting Surfaces
The fringe projection (FP) method is an outstanding tool for reconstructing painted surfaces. This technique, which has been used for conservation and digitization, does not damage the artwork and can reach sub-millimeter accuracy. To carry out this type

Step Pyramid Distribution for Prime Numbers
In this document, we will present a new way to visualize the distribution of Prime Numbers in the number system to spot Prime numbers in a subset of numbers using a simpler algorithm. Then we will look throw a classification algorithm to check if a number is prime using only 7 simple arithmetic operations with an algorithm complexity less ...

Combined shear/compression structural testing of asymmetric sandwich structures [PDF]
Asymmetric sandwich technology can be applied in the design of lightweight, non-pressurized aeronautical structures such as those of helicopters. A test rig of asymmetric sandwich structures subjected to compression/shear loads was designed, validated ...

A Step Towards Learning Contraction Kernels for Irregular Image Pyramid
A structure preserving irregular image pyramid can be computed by applying basic graph operations (contraction and removal of edges) on the 4 adjacent neighbourhood graph of an image. In this paper, we derive an objective function that classifies the edges as contractible or removable for building an irregular graph pyramid.

A global approach to the refinement of manifold data [PDF]
A refinement of manifold data is a computational process, which produces a denser set of discrete data from a given one. Such refinements are closely related to multiresolution representations of manifold data by pyramid transforms, and approximation of ...
