A IMax $\vert_{\max^{,}}$ Fully Integrated Multi-Phase Voltage Regulator with 91.5% Peak Efficiency at 1.8 to 1V, Operating at 50MHz and Featuring a Digitally Assisted Controller with Automatic Phase Shedding and Soft Switching in 4nm Class FinFET CMOS

IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference, 2022
Modern compute SoCs often consume 100s of amperes at voltages of 1V and below which poses huge challenges for delivering power to the socket. Fully integrated voltage regulators (FIVRs) can mitigate these challenges by providing local step-down ...

Novel voltage control of multiple step voltage regulators in a distribution system

ISGT 2014, 2014
This paper presents a novel method for determining the control parameters and a voltage control method for multiple step voltage regulators (SVRs) in a single feeder. The main purpose of the proposed method is to reduce the amount of voltage violation and the tap operation times and to extend the voltage margin from the upper and lower voltage limits ...

Fully Integrated Switched-Inductor-Capacitor Voltage Regulator With 0.82-A/mm2 Peak Current Density and 78% Peak Power Efficiency

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2021
Fully integrated voltage regulators (FIVRs) can improve the performance and reduce the power consumption of a system-on-chip (SoC) by providing point-of-load voltage regulation with dynamic voltage scaling.

Single-Phase AC-AC Zeta Converter-Based Automatic AC Voltage Regulator

2022 1st International Conference on Sustainable Technology for Power and Energy Systems (STPES), 2022
In this paper, an AC chopper-based automatic AC voltage regulator (AVR) is analysed. The power circuit is made of a single-phase (1 - ϕ) AC-AC zeta converter with voltage step-up and step-down capability in order to compensate the load voltage under ...

Transformerless step up alternating voltage regulators with sinusoidal currents

International Conference and Seminar of Young Specialists on Micro/Nanotechnologies and Electron Devices, 2012
A new transformerless AC voltage regulators with a sinusoidal input and output currents and ability of voltage increasing are considered. The regulators can be used as the soft-starting devices for asynchronous motors. Results of mathematical modeling and analytical calculation of RMS values by fundamentals of the currents and voltage are given.

MEMS Switching Voltage Regulator Using a Normally-On Electret Relay

Journal of microelectromechanical systems, 2022
We report on a DC/DC step-down switching regulator using a microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) switch for the first time. The output voltage developed in a storage capacitor is used as a feedback control voltage for the electrostatic actuator that ...

Controls for Step Voltage Regulators [includes discussion]

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Part III: Power Apparatus and Systems, 1955
A unique control circuit for step voltage regulators is described. An auxiliary relay with four pairs of contacts has been eliminated; this results in reduced maintenance and quiet operation. Full integrating time delay is obtained by means of a motor-driven time-delay relay operated directly by the contacts of the voltage-regulating relay. Sparking on

Multiphase voltage regulator module with transient step changing phases

PowerCon 2000. 2000 International Conference on Power System Technology. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX409), 2002
The paper presents a new method to control multiphase DC-DC converters for supplying new generation microprocessors (VRM) requiring higher currents at lower voltages. These requirements are achieved by paralleling converter modules, and phase-shifting their drive signals (interleaving technique).

Step-up AC Voltage Regulators with High-Frequency Link

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2013
A circuit configuration and a circuit topological family of step-up ac voltage regulators with high-frequency link are proposed. This kind of circuit topology is composed of input LC filter, energy-storage inductor, input cycloconverter, high-frequency transformer, output cycloconverter and output filtering capacitor.
