Piezoelectric inertial stepping motor with spherical rotor
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1992A piezoelectric inertial stepping motor for multiple rotations of small optical or mechanical components has been developed. The spherical rotor can be rotated about two or three orthogonal axes. Angular step resolution of 1 arcsec is achieved and the maximum speed lies in the range of degrees per second. The design is compact and eliminates mechanical

Light-Driven Molecular Motors: Imines as Four-Step or Two-Step Unidirectional Rotors
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2014Chiral N-alkyl imines undergo unidirectional rotation induced by light and heat, thus providing a new class of molecular motors. Depending on the conformational flexibility of the stator part (the carbonyl residue) and the nitrogen inversion barrier of the rotor part (the amine residue) in the molecule, the operation mode of the motor can be controlled

COMPLIANT CORE-ROTOR STEPPING MOTORS
Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1995ABSTRACT The present paper introduces an attractive new type of stepping motors employing a compliant core rotor and conventional 3-phase stator. The stepping of mmf's are produced by a suitable electronic circuit designed specially for this purpose. Also, the MOTOROLA-6809 microprocessor is used to control the motor operation The motor is tested by ...

FREE BENDING VIBRATION OF A MULTI-STEP ROTOR
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1999The free bending vibration of a rotating shaft composed of multi-step segments with each segment having a uniform circular cross-section has been analyzed using the Timoshenko beam model. Torque has been applied at each end as in a power-transmission shaft and the gyroscopic effect due to the shaft rotation has also been considered.

Vibration characteristics of electric drive system considering rotor-step skewing
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2023Electric vehicle has been gaining popularity in the worldwide market. The drive system for an electric vehicle usually consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and a two-stage gear system. The vibration characteristics of electric drive system is of great importance to the noise and durability performance.

Dynamic Surface Back-Stepping Control of Multi-rotor Aircraft
2016 3rd International Conference on Information Science and Control Engineering (ICISCE), 2016For the multi rotor aircraft with high model order, a control strategy based on dynamic surface back-stepping is putted forward to solve the problem that the derivation of the virtual control input signal is complicated when conventional back-stepping approach is used. First, the mathematical model of multi rotor aircraft is established.

Complex Variable Filtering: The Next Step in Rotor Diagnostics
Volume 4: Manufacturing Materials and Metallurgy; Ceramics; Structures and Dynamics; Controls, Diagnostics and Instrumentation; Education; IGTI Scholar Award, 2001Currently most rotor diagnostic algorithms focus on extracting as much information as possible from the signal of a single transducer. This limits these algorithms to only processing information about the projection of the rotor motion onto the probe axis.

Step by step robust nonlinear PI for attitude stabilisation of a four-rotor mini-aircraft
2008 16th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2008Based on the Euler angles parameterization, a new approach for the attitude control of a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) quadrotor aircraft is proposed. It rests on the combination of the backstepping technique and a nonlinear robust PI controller.
