Molecular rotor as a high-temperature Brownian motor
The aim of the present work is to develop a theory of high-temperature polar molecular rotors, the rotation of which is initiated by an external alternating electric field.

Torque Analysis of Permanent-Magnet Flux Switching Machines With Rotor Step Skewing [PDF]
This paper investigates the torque characteristics of permanent-magnet flux switching (PMFS) machines with rotor step skewing. The cogging torque, torque ripple, and average output torque of a PMFS machine with a common stator and different rotor pole widths and rotor pole numbers are first established using two-dimensional (2-D) finite element ...

Rotor oscillation damping of a stepping motor by sliding mode control
Stepping motors are used mainly in OA and FA systems due to the merit of their digital driving behavior using switching devices. They are driven by closed-loop control in the systems where special performance such as prevention of out of synchronism or highspeed drive is required. It is well known that rotor oscillation is one of the principal problems ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Structural Asymmetry and Kinetic Limping of Single Rotary F-ATP Synthases
F-ATP synthases use proton flow through the FO domain to synthesize ATP in the F1 domain. In Escherichia coli, the enzyme consists of rotor subunits γεc10 and stator subunits (αβ)3δab2.
