ABSTRACT The study examines the transfer of learning in the context of different surgical methods used to complete surgical procedures. Surgeons' total experience is characterized by the procedure (i.e., focal or different) and the surgical technology or method used (i.e., laparoscopic‐assisted minimally invasive surgery [LAS] or robot‐assisted ...

Stereoscopic Brightness Roll‐Off in Augmented Reality
The increasing demand for power‐efficient immersive augmented reality (AR) displays has led to a growing need for effective power‐saving strategies. Here, the authors investigate for the first time the stereoscopic effectiveness of brightness roll‐off (BRO) for perceptually‐optimized power savings in AR.

ABSTRACT This contribution deals with a method based on DIC (digital image correlation) analyses that allows the measuring range to be extended to smaller deformations by a special evaluation algorithm. Therein, the detected displacements (DIC raw data) are approximated by B‐splines with optimized smoothing.

ABSTRACT This paper presents the development and validation of a scalable platooning system based on the predecessor‐following (PF) topology, designed for low‐cost follower platforms. It integrates key technologies such as localization, path planning, profile generation, and low‐level control to create a practical solution.

A Robust Transformer–Based Error Compensation Method for Gyroscope of IMUs
ABSTRACT Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), comprising gyroscopes and accelerometers, are fundamental for motion estimation in navigation and robotics. However, their performance is often degraded by nonlinear and time‐varying errors, such as bias drift, scale‐factor deviations, and sensor noise.

Lagrangian Acceleration as a Diagnostic for Wave Breaking in the Nearshore Zone
Abstract This study focuses on evaluating the Lagrangian downward acceleration of fluid particles near the wavecrest as a dynamic criterion for identification of wave breaking in shallow water. The use of the downward acceleration as an indicator for wave breaking goes back to the work of Longuet‐Higgins (1963), https://doi.org/10.1017 ...
