Natural versus haploscopic stereopsis
Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 1991Natural stereopsis is better with a large interpupillary distance (IPD). With haploscopic devices, depth perception is better with a small IPD. This apparently unknown fact has been trigonometrically calculated and experimentally shown by enlarging and diminishing the IPD in 20 subjects.

Stereopsis after Intravitreal Ranibizumab Injections for Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion.
Ophthalmology Retina, 2019PURPOSE To evaluate stereopsis before and after intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR) injections in patients with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) and investigate the relationship between stereopsis and retinal microstructure.

DISPARITY LIMITS OF STEREOPSIS
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1952THE OLDER visual physiologists, in particular Volkmann, von Helmholtz, 1 Hering, 2 and von Kries and Auerbach, 3 knew that stereoscopic depth perception exists even when the disparities between images in the two eyes are large enough that those images appear double. It is a common experience for observers using the Hering "drop test" to report that the

Stereopsis without binocular correlation
Vision Research, 1978Abstract In a simple stimulus environment, a diplopic stereoscopic pair gives the same apparent depth whether the pair consists of similar or dissimilar images. This apparent depth may arise in part from a direct comparison of the two eyes images, but it may also be based in part on a process that assigns depth to monocular stimulation on the basis ...

Stereopsis in Refractive Surgery
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2006To examine stereopsis in myopic refractive surgery patients undergoing sequential bilateral and unilateral treatment.Prospective, observational, cohort study.Clinical practice.Eighty-three patients were studied; 55 had sequential bilateral and 28 had unilateral treatment. Mean age was 32 years.

▪ Abstract Binocular disparity provides the visual system with information concerning the three-dimensional layout of the environment. Recent physiological studies in the primary visual cortex provide a successful account of the mechanisms by which single neurons are able to signal disparity.

HERE I report results which reveal a new form of binocular stereopsis sensitive to delays between the arrival of common input to both eyes instead of retinal disparity.

Colour contours and stereopsis
Vision Research, 1979Abstract In this study the role of colour contours in stereopsis has been investigated for random dot stereograms and for figural stereo stimuli. The main conclusion is that for random dot stereograms there are ratios of luminances for dots and background where stereopsis disappears, which could point to the possibility that colour differences alone ...

Fixation Disparity and Stereopsis
Optometry and Vision Science, 1977The magnitude of fixation disparity has been proposed to be uncorrelated with stereoscopic sensitivity. Studies on this relationship have been confined to the effects of vergence-induced fixation disparity on stereoacuity: some subjects exhibited decreased stereoacuity with induced fixation disparity. The present study was designed to determine whether
