We report the long term results of interstitial irradiation therapy in patients suffering from malignant supratentorial gliomas. The radioisotopes implanted by stereotaxic technique were Au198 grains in solid tumors and Y90 colloidal solution in a cystic tumor. The therapy was always well tolerated. Minimum survival time after implantation was 9 months,

A Stereotaxic Technique for Preoperative Marking of Non-Palpable Breast Lesions
Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1983A new method for preoperative marking has been evaluated in 56 non-palpable lesions of the breast. With the aid of a stereotaxic biopsy instrument the lesion is located and an aqueous suspension of carbon particles is injected so as to leave a distinct trail from the lesion out to the skin.

This study is meant to combine traditional aspects of tracer microinjections using bone landmarks like bregma and lambda with novel procedures in which specific parts of the brain can serve as reference points. For telencephalic and diencephalic injections, the brain surface, the interhemispheric groove and the straight sinus can be used as absolute ...

A forebrain atlas and stereotaxic technique for the lizard, Anolis carolinensis
Journal of Morphology, 1982AbstractA forebrain atlas and stereotaxic neurosurgical techniques were developed for use in anatomical and behavioral experiments on the green anolis lizard (Anolis carolinensis). Green anoles are convenient and robust experimental subjects with a rich behavioral repertoire, the social components of which are partly under hormonal control. The ...

Simple technique for midline stereotaxic surgery in the rat
Physiology & Behavior, 1979A simple technique is described for diverting the superior saggital sinus to allow midline implantation of vertically oriented electrodes or cannulae. This method avoids problems encountered following puncture of the sinus and minimizes cortical trauma.

Experience with the intraoperative frozen section technique for stereotaxic brain tumor biopsies.
Zentralblatt fur Pathologie, 1991The smear preparation technique is usually employed intraoperatively for stereotaxic brain tumor biopsies, whereas the frozen section technique is used in conventional operations, where larger tissue specimens can be obtained. 130 brain tumor biopsies were processed with the frozen section technique and postoperatively submitted to immunohistochemical ...
