Neutrino masses are likely to be a manifestation of the right-handed, or sterile neutrinos. The number of sterile neutrinos and the scales of their Majorana masses are unknown. We explore theoretical arguments in favor of the high and low scale seesaw mechanisms, review the existing experimental results, and discuss the astrophysical hints regarding ...

A review is given of hypothetical faster‐than‐light tachyons and the development of the author’s 3 + 3 model of the neutrino mass states, which includes one tachyonic mass state doublet. Published empirical evidence for the model is summarized, including an interpretation of the mysterious Mont Blanc neutrino burst from SN 1987A as being due to ...

Sensitivity to sterile neutrino mixing using reactor antineutrinos
The reactor antineutrinos are used for the precise measurement of oscillation parameters in the 3-neutrino model, and also used to investigate active-sterile neutrino mixing sensitivity in the $$3+1$$ 3+1 neutrino framework. In the present work, we study

Sterile neutrinos in the light of IceCube [PDF]
We determine constraints on parameters of a single eV-scale light neutrino using IceCube-59 data. Particular emphasis is put on the question whether such an analysis can rule out sterile neutrino hints. While important complementary information is provided, the different dependence on the various sterile neutrino mixing angles makes it currently not ...

Very recently novel implementation of type‐II seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass has been proposed in SU(5) grand unified theory with a number of desirable new physical phenomena beyond the standard model. Introducing heavy right‐handed neutrinos and extra fermion singlets, in this work we show how the type‐I seesaw cancellation mechanism works in this

Testing νMSM with indirect searches
We consider neutrino Minimal extension of the Standard Model (νMSM), which by introducing only three sterile neutrinos in sub-electroweak region can explain active neutrino oscillations (via seesaw type-I mechanism), baryon asymmetry of the Universe ...

Sterile neutrino oscillometry with Jinping [PDF]
AbstractThe existence of sterile neutrino is an open question in neutrino physics up to now. The method of neutrino oscillometry provides a powerful tool to test the common 3 + 1 sterile neutrino hypothesis, i.e. three active flavors and one sterile flavor. There are several antineutrino sources which can be used for this method.

Several experimental proposals expect to confirm the recent measurement of the coherent elastic neutrino‐nucleus scattering (CEvNS). Motivated in particular by the next generation experiments of the COHERENT collaboration, we study their sensitivity to different tests of the Standard Model and beyond.

Millimeter‐Wave WISP Search with Coherent Light‐Shining‐Through‐a‐Wall Toward the STAX Project
This research article shows potential of millimeter waves for searching dark photons, one of the candidates of dark matter. By sharing a common reference signal, an excellent temporal coherency is achieved between production and detection of dark photons.
