The temporary transition of macrophages from a pro‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M2) is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration processes. Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are utilized as a “trojan horse” for specific M1 macrophage‐targeting and anti‐inflammatory drug delivery ...

Reproduction and the Common Good: Global Perspectives from the Catholic Tradition
Reproductive health is a complex moral, theological, and political issue. In this volume, theologians from around the world examine the realities of reproductive injustice and the wisdom of Catholic social teachings that call Christians to enact ...

The notion of sterile neutrinos is discussed. The schemes of mixing of four massive neutrinos, which imply the existence of sterile neutrinos, are briefly considered. Several model independent methods that allow to reveal possible transitions of solar neutrinos into sterile states are presented.

Tunable Thermoshrinkable Hydrogels for 4D Fabrication of Cell‐Seeded Channels
A thermoresponsive polymer with methacrylate groups for photo‐cross‐linking, based on polyethylene glycol, N‐isopropylacrylamide, and 2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate is synthetized to yield hydrogels that shrink upon temperature increase. The new polymer enables the fabrication of cell‐laden perfusable channels with diameters below 200 µm by combining ...

Ovariectomy of a brown bear (Ursus arctos): a case report
Reproductive control is regularly implemented in bear facilities to prevent crowding of enclosures and surplus animals. Ovariectomy may represent an efficient method of sterilizing bears yet has not been reported in the literature.

Neutrino masses are likely to be a manifestation of the right-handed, or sterile neutrinos. The number of sterile neutrinos and the scales of their Majorana masses are unknown. We explore theoretical arguments in favor of the high and low scale seesaw mechanisms, review the existing experimental results, and discuss the astrophysical hints regarding ...

A series of ACHPES‐based hydrogels are developed and realizing multiple functions like anti‐fouling properties, alkali‐induced color/fluorescence‐changing ability and strain sensing. Furthermore, the hydrogels show excellent anti‐freezing performance, whose optical, mechanical and electrical properties remain stable at −47.3 °C.

Organ‐on‐Chip (OoC) technology enables the precise modeling of the blood‐brain barrier (BBB). This study presents a microfluidic device that mimics brain microvessels, integrating co‐culture with pericytes and astrocytes under pulsatile flow. Results show that perivascular cells modulate endothelial morphology, promoting lumen formation and barrier ...

Feedback stabilization for a spatial-dependent Sterile Insect Technique model with Allee Effect [PDF]
This work focuses on feedback control strategies for applying the sterile insect technique (SIT) to eliminate pest populations. The presentation is centered on the case of mosquito populations, but most of the results can be extended to other species by adapting the model and selecting appropriate parameter values to describe the reproduction and ...
