ABSTRACT We tested the behavioral responses of breeding Sternula antillarum (Least Terns) to pedestrians and off-road vehicles and showed that disturbance source, intra-colony characteristics, and environmental factors all influenced the distance at which the birds were disturbed, as well as the duration of their response.

Resumen: Los sitios de anidación de las aves marinas y aves playeras residentes son muy poco conocidos en las costas de Venezuela. La mayor parte de la información son registros ocasionales de estas aves y sólo hay un estudio reproductivo de Charadrius wilsonia cinnamominus en el estado Sucre.
