Diclofenac Detection via Inner‐Filter Effect Using Pyridine‐Modified Triphenylene

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
The synthesis of hexa‐pyridine triphenylene derivatives via Suzuki‐coupling reaction and their application toward the sensing of diclofenac have been studied for the first time. The 3PY and 4PY are selective for diclofenac over the other commonly prescribed pharmaceuticals and hormones tested. Triphenylene derivatives 3PY (2,3,6,7,10,11‐hexa(pyridine‐3‐

Fluorescence Lifetime Based Probes for Water Mediated Proton Transfer and Weak Bases

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
Two hydroxybenzoic acid substituted diazaoxatriangulenium (DAOTA+) fluorescence lifetime probes, is synthesized and which is capable of reporting on intra‐ and intermolecular proton transfer (PT)rates in water. Intramolecular PT in these probes only can happen via Grotthuss‐like water bridging between the carboxylate proton acceptor and the phenol ...
