Sculpting the Future of Bone: The Evolution of Absorbable Materials in Orthopedics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the current status of polymeric, ceramic, and metallic absorbable materials in orthopedic applications, and highlights several innovative strategies designed to enhance mechanical performance, control degradation, and promote bioactivity. We also discuss the progress and translational potential of absorbable materials in treating

Pigment epithelium detachment with thickened choroid in a preterm infant at term-equivalent age: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
Pigment epithelial detachment (PED) is well-documented in adult retinal diseases but is rarely reported in neonates. This case describes a preterm infant, born at 31 weeks, who developed PED with thickened choroid at term-equivalent age, detected using ...

Incorporating Heavy Atom Effect onto Molecular Rotors for Realizing Exceptionally Photocatalytic Oxidation Reaction under Low‐Temperature Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Here, we reported a series of molecular‐rotor‐based photoactivated oxidase mimics, DAPy‐Xm, in which heavy atom incorporation enhances both ROS generation and cold‐adapted property. Among them, DAPy‐Im enables efficient photo‐oxidation of ergosterol and photocatalytic H2O2 production at low temperature.

Implantable Microarray Patch: Engineering at the Nano and Macro Scale for Sustained Therapeutic Release via Synthetic Biodegradable Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This review focuses on the application of synthetic biodegradable microarray patches (MAPs) in sustained drug delivery. Compared to conventional MAPs which release drugs into the skin in an immediate manner, these implantable MAPs release drugs into skin microcirculation gradually as the biodegradable polymers degrade, thus offering sustained release ...

Multiomics Analyses Reveal an Essential Role of Tryptophan in Treatment of csDMARDs in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease characterized by joint inflammation. Approximately 50% of patients show insufficient response to traditional synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs. This study aims to elucidate differential molecular profiles of the mechanisms underlying drug responses through multi‐omics strategy.
