Static Analysis of Stiffened Plates
AIAA Journal, 1984Stiffened clamped rectangular plates have been analyzed taking the eccentricity of the stiffener into consideration. There is no available solution for this problem. The governing equations in terms of the in- plane and lateral displacements of the midplane of the plate are solved using a series consisting of beam functions and Galerkin's procedure ...

Free Vibration Analysis of Integrally Stiffened Plates with Plate-Strip Stiffeners
AIAA Journal, 2016We investigated the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a freely vibrating, integrally stiffened and/or stepped plate. The stiffeners used here were plate-strip stiffeners as opposed to the normally employed rib stiffeners. Both the plate and stiffeners were analyzed using the first-order shear deformation theory.

Advanced Composite Materials, 2020
This paper introduced the triangulation method using the relations of the signal magnitudes and distances between each sensor and impact location. In order to extract the useful feature having good correlation with these distances, the time of arrival ...

Thin-Walled Structures, 2013
Abstract A hypothesis that when subject to biaxial stress, the strengthening effects of arbitrarily oriented stiffener can be approximated by those of regularly oriented stiffener is proved through several simulations and comparisons. It is also found that in an arbitrarily stiffened plate with multiple stiffeners, the orientation of the stiffeners ...

Parametric Resonance of Stiffened Rectangular Plates
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1972This investigation is concerned with the onset of parametric instability of a simply supported stiffened rectangular plate subjected to in-plane sinusoidal dynamic forces. An analytical analysis is developed for the stiffened plate with the stiffeners treated as discrete elements.

Stiffened plates with arbitrarily oblique stiffeners
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1990Abstract An analysis for a stiffened plate with arbitrarily oblique and equally spaced eccentric stiffeners is proposed. In this analysis, the joint effects of stiffeners by the interaction of the plate and stiffeners are taken into account and the effects of stiffeners are not considered as discrete members, but their effects are averaged or ...

A Stiffened Plate Element Model for Advanced Grid Stiffened Composite Plates/Shells
Journal of Composite Materials, 2010A triangular composite stiffened plate/shell element is developed to analyze the advanced grid stiffened (AGS) structures based on Mindlin shear deformation theory. The rotations of ribs and skin are interpolated, respectively, while the conditions of displacement compatibility are satisfied along the interface of rib and skin.

Buckling of stiffened plates and design of stiffeners
International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 1997Abstract This paper presents a closed-form solution of critical instability stresses for simply supported rectangular plates with an arbitrary number of stiffeners in longitudinal and/or transverse directions. It is shown that there are only two buckling modes that are coupled to each other for single direction stiffened plates and four for double ...

Free Vibration of Stiffened Plate with Cracked Stiffeners
Advances in Applied Mathematics and MechanicsSummary: In this paper, a new cracked stiffener model for the stiffener with a part-through and open crack is proposed, considering the compatibility condition of displacements between the plate and the stiffener. Based on the first-order shear deformation theory, the free vibration of stiffened isotropic plates with cracked stiffeners are investigated
