High-frequency random vibrations of a stiffened plate with a cutout using energy finite element and experimental methods

, 2020
In this paper, by employing the energy finite element analysis, the high-frequency vibrations of a stiffened plate having a cutout, subjected to random vibrations, have been analyzed, and the obtained results have been validated by use of experimental ...

Orthotropic Plate Model of Hat Stiffened Plate

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part M: Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment, 2013
Orthotropic Plate Model of Hat Stiffened Plate has been developed based on the equal rigidity concept that makes use of orthotropy rescaling technique. This Orthotropic Plate Model can readily be analyzed using an orthotropic plate finite element available in the element library of any general-purpose finite element software, which will reduce the ...

Demand on Stiffeners in Stiffened Extended End-Plate Connections

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2012
The paper reports a study on the effect of stiffeners on stiffness and strength of T-stubs to find out the strength and stiffness demand on stiffeners. The tensile capacity of triangular stiffeners is first analyzed and is compared with that of a long rectangular one, an efficiency factor formula is proposed.

An incremental galerkin method for plates and stiffened plates

Computers & Structures, 1987
In order to perform a detailed analysis of large deflection behavior of a rectangular plate or stiffened plate, an efficient semi-analytical method is developed. First, incremental forms of the governing differential equations of plates and stiffened plates with initial deflection are derived.

Free vibration analysis of hygrothermally stable stiffened composite plates with plate-stiffener interfacial debonding

Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures
Stiffeners are frequently utilized in many engineering projects because they boost strength while adding only a small amount of weight to the overall structure.

Efficient Stiffened Composite Plate Analysis

53rd AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics and Materials Conference
20th AIAA/ASME/AHS Adaptive Structures Conference
14th AIAA, 2012
The high specific strength, high specific stiffness and tailorability amongst many other advantages have made composites an excellent choice in comparison with other material for aircraft. Latest advances in composite fabrication technology like co-curing/co-bonding have resulted in more efficient integral structures. These stiffened co-cured shells or

Stiffened plates in bending

Computers & Structures, 1994
Abstract A semianalytical method developed by the author for the analysis of bare plates has been extended to the static analysis of stiffened plates. Both concentric and eccentric stiffeners have been considered. Deposition of the stiffener eccentric to the plate gives rise to axial and bending displacements in the middle plane of the plate.

Elastic Buckling of Stiffened Plates

Journal of the Structural Division, 1972
The purpose of this paper is to present results which may be used to develop design requirements for stiffened plates with aspect ratios greater than or equal to one subjected to compression and shear.

Vibration of Stiffened Plates

Aeronautical Quarterly, 1964
SummaryThis paper presents a general procedure for calculating the natural frequencies of rectangular plates continuous over identical and equally spaced elastic beams which are simply-supported at their ends. Arbitrary boundary conditions are permissible on the other two edges of the plate.

Plastic Buckling of Longitudinally Stiffened Plates

Journal of the Aerospace Sciences, 1961
Formulas are developed which define the plastic buckling coefficients for a simply supported plate stiffened by longitudinal stiffeners and subject to uniform compression in the direction of the stiffeners. The equations are developed by consideration of the strain energy of plastic buckling.
