Decoupling Dynamics and Crosslink Stability in Supramolecular Hydrogels Using Associative Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
How does reorganization impact the stability of supramolecular hydrogels? In contrast to dissociative crosslink exchange, implementing associative exchange in macroscale DNA hydrogels enables decoupling of reorganization dynamics from thermal and mechanical stability.

Rewriting Polymer Fate via Chemomechanical Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a life‐like “living” polymer platform that can grow, degrow, and reprogram its properties after fabrication. By integrating mass transport, reversible polymerization, and controlled catalysis, the material achieves on‐demand changes in size, shape, and mechanical properties.

Nonlinear stability of shear deformable eccentrically stiffened functionally graded plates on elastic foundations with temperature-dependent properties

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2017
This article investigates the nonlinear stability of eccentrically stiffened moderately thick plates made of functionally graded materials (FGM) subjected to in-plane compressive, thermo-mechanical loads.

Liquids as Reinforcements for Anisotropic and Tough Soft Matter Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal droplets are shaped and oriented within soft elastomers to create all‐soft matter composites with programmable mechanical anisotropy. These liquid inclusions act as fiber‐like reinforcements, enabling directional stiffness, enhanced toughness, and controlled crack steering under extreme deformation, offering new routes to resilient soft ...

Free and Forced Vibration Characteristics of a Composite Stiffened Plate Based on Energy Method

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The composite stiffened plate has garnered significant attention in the lightweight design of ship structures due to its superior mechanical properties. Although it reduces the structural weight, it also increases vibration sensitivity.

Hydrogel‐Based 3D‐Printable Stretchable Pressure Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a carbon‐black‐functionalized double‐network granular hydrogel (DNGH) pressure sensor capable of detecting pressures from 200 Pa, equivalent to a light finger touch, up to 500 kPa. The sensor exhibits signal drifts below 3.5% after 800 cycles and response times around 80 ms. Leveraging this broad sensing range, we 3D print this material into

Degradation of the compressive strength of unstiffened/stiffened steel plates due to both-sides randomly distributed corrosion wastage

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
The paper addresses the problem of the influence of randomly distributed corrosion wastage on the collapse strength and behaviour of unstiffened/stiffened steel plates in longitudinal compression.
