Arthritis of the canine stifle joint

Veterinary Record, 1975
A survey of cadaver material was undertaken in order to determine the prevalence of arthritis of the canine stifle joint. One hundred and fifty unselected cadavers were obtained from veterinary practices for this purpose, and their stifle joints were radiographed and dissected to discover abnormalities.

Stifle arthrodesis in two cats

Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumatology, 2012
SummaryTwo Domestic Shorthaired cats were admitted after sustaining multiligamentous injuries of the stifle joint. In one cat, prosthetic ligamentous reconstruction was unsuccessful at maintaining normal stifle stability. Both cats were treated with stifle arthrodesis using internal fixation with a plate and screws without external coaptation.

Biomechanics of an orthosis-managed cranial cruciate ligament-deficient canine stifle joint predicted by use of a computer model.

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 2017
OBJECTIVE To evaluate effects of an orthosis on biomechanics of a cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL)-deficient canine stifle joint by use of a 3-D quasistatic rigid-body pelvic limb computer model simulating the stance phase of gait and to investigate ...

DIAGNOSTIC SENSITIVITY OF BONE SCINTIGRAPHY FOR EQUINE STIFLE DISORDERS

Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound, 2015
Disorders of the stifle are a common cause of lameness in horses yet the accuracy of scintigraphy for diagnosis of stifle conditions is controversial. The aim of retrospective cross-sectional study was to determine the diagnostic sensitivity (Se) of bone

Assessment of novel digital and smartphone goniometers for measurement of canine stifle joint angles.

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 2016
OBJECTIVE To evaluate accuracy and reliability of 3 novel goniometers for measurement of canine stifle joint angles and compare the results with those obtained with a universal goniometer (UG). SAMPLE 8 pelvic limbs from 4 canine cadavers.

Canine Stifle Biomechanics Associated With a Novel Extracapsular Articulating Implant Predicted Using a Computer Model.

Veterinary surgery, 2016
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the influence of the Simitri Stable in Stride™ extracapsular articulating implant (EAI) on canine stifle biomechanics in the cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL)-deficient stifle using a 3-dimensional (3D) quasi-static rigid body canine
