Finger millet (Eleusine coracana) improvement: Challenges and prospects—A review

open access: yesPlant Breeding, Volume 143, Issue 3, Page 350-374, June 2024.
Abstract Finger millet is a climate‐resilient and highly nutritious small grain crop widely grown in the semi‐arid tropics. It has multiple uses, including for food, feed and beverage preparations. However, finger millet is an under‐utilized and under‐researched crop with a mean yield of <1.0 t/ha despite a potential productivity of up to 8 t/ha.

Quantitative assessment of kernel set and risk of out-crossing in maize based on flowering dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Pollination in maize can occur only if airborne pollen shed by the staminate flowers on the tassel is captured by the stigmas of the pistillate flowers borne on the ear.

Floral evolution of long-tubed Erica species [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The genus Erica has undergone an extreme radiation in the Cape and exhibits a diversity of pollination syndromes and floral traits. This makes Erica well-suited to study the evolution of floral traits and how they impact speciation.
