Thermal Behaviour and Adsorption Properties of Natural Stilbite

Journal of inclusion phenomena and molecular recognition in chemistry, 1997
Crystals collected from the Ellora valley(Aurangabad, MS, India) of the Deccan traps of India have beencharacterized as a stilbite (St) by X-ray diffraction, IRspectroscopy and chemical analyses. The thermal behaviour was studiedusing TG and DTA techniques. The sample was exchanged at refluxtemperature with NH4Cl and NH4St was prepared.

High-pressure diffraction study of zeolites stilbite and stellerite

Journal of Structural Chemistry, 2012
The high-pressure behavior of zeolites of the stilbite-stellerite isomorphous series is studied by X-ray powder diffraction using synchrotron radiation in the penetrating (water-containing) medium in a high-pressure cell. At the initial stage (< 2 GPa), orthorhombic stellerite |Ca3.77(H2O)28| [Al7.54Si28.46O72] shows lower compressibility than ...

Oxygen isotope studies of zeolites—Stilbite, analcime, heulandite, and clinoptilolite: III. Oxygen isotope fractionation between stilbite and water or water vapor

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1993
Abstract The oxygen isotope fractionation between the aluminosilicate framework of stilbite and water vapor (or bulk water) was studied between 125 and 300°C. The fractionation factor for exchange between the channel water of stilbite and water vapor was determined at room temperature. At this temperature, the channel water of stilbite is enriched in

The relation of stellerite and epidesmine to stilbite

Mineralogical Magazine and Journal of the Mineralogical Society, 1939
The recent finding of a stellerite-like mineral in California has led to this study of its relations to epidesmine and stilbite. The mineral was found by Mr. Allen Nichol, mineralogist of the Division of Highways, in the quarry of the Calavera Materials Company near Oceanside, San Diego County.

Dehydration of natural stilbite: An in situ FTIR study

American Mineralogist, 2005
The dehydration behavior of a natural stilbite sample from Poona (India) was investigated by in situ FTIR. The thermal induced variations of the water molecule bending (ν2) mode around 1653 cm−1, the stretching (ν3 and ν1) modes around 3587 and 3426 cm−1, and the corresponding second-order modes in the wavenumber region 4000–8000 cm−1 were followed as ...
