EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF STILLING BASIN MODELS

open access: yesProceedings of International Structural Engineering and Construction, 2017
Stilling basins with appurtenances can be used effectively in dissipating the excessive energy downstream of hydraulic structure like spillway, sluices, pipe outlets etc. Experimental investigation leading to the development of new stilling basin model design for pipe outlet with different appurtenances is reported in this paper.

Physically Based Predictive Modelling of Archaeological Proxies Using Cropmarks

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cropmarks, as archaeological proxies, offer a valuable means of detecting buried sites through remote sensing. Yet, the scalability of such methods across varied archaeological contexts remains underexplored, and AI‐based modelling approaches are still in early stages.

Utilisation of Stepped Channels and Study of Stepped Channel Flows in Australia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Stepped channels and spillways are used since more than 3,000 years. Recently, new construction materials (e.g. RCC, gabions) have increased the interest for stepped chutes.

Digital Spatial Technologies to Compose the Map of the Southeast Iberia Megalithic Phenomenon. The Case Study of Fonelas (Granada, Spain)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Megalithic landscapes in Southeast Iberia remain unevenly and insufficiently documented, particularly in rugged areas where traditional survey methods are limited. This paper addresses this gap by applying a multiscalar approach to the megalithic necropolises of the Fardes River (Granada, Spain), with the objective of detecting, documenting ...

Studi Kedalaman Dan Pola Gerusan Lokal Yang Terjadi Di Hilir Bendung Dengan Kolam Olakan Tipe Bucket Dan USBR III [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Most of spillways failure in Indonesia are caused by local scouring that happens continuously at downstream, and at time local scouring get the foot of spillway will dangerous for its operational. This scour occurs because of advanced value of specific

Automated Feature Extraction and Classification of Submerged Cultural Heritage Assets in the Puck Lagoon via Multisensor Remote Sensing

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents a strong framework for the detection and classification of Submerged Cultural Heritage Assets (SCHA) in shallow marine environments using the integration of multibeam echosounder and airborne LiDAR bathymetry with object‐based image analysis and fuzzy logic–based classification.

Experimental Investigation on Energy Dissipation in Diversion Tunnel at the Head of Canal [PDF]

open access: yes长江科学院院报
[Objective] The flow patterns of energy dissipation inside tunnels are complex, and theoretical calculations cannot meet design requirements. This research aims to: (1) verify the rationality of design parameters for energy dissipation in diversion ...

Study on the Impact of Step Layout on Secondary Energy Dissipation and Flow Pattern of Spillway Tailwater

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang, 2021
A secondary energy dissipation is required between the sill underflow stilling basin and the downstream tailrace at the outlet of the Dabaitian Reservoir spillway in Fengqing County,Yunnan Province. At the same time, the stepped energy dissipation section ...
