The Pentatomidae, representing the fourth largest family within Heteroptera, are one of the most diverse groups with about 800 genera and more than 4,700 species in the world. In the Neotropics, about 230 genera and 1,400 species are included in seven subfamilies of the world’s nine subfamilies; four subfamilies are exclusively of the Neotropics.

Abstract The experiment was located in Gadsden County, Fla., and planted 7 Jun. Plot size was 10 rows by 15 m with a 0.76-m row spacing. Experimental design was a randomized complete block, with 4 replicates. All treatments were applied 20 Sep with a 2-row, CO2-powered backpack sprayer equipped with 3 D3 nozzles/row.

Attractiveness of conspecific stink bugs to adult stink bug-baited traps in soybean fields
Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology, 2012The attractiveness of live adult stink bugs used as baits in traps in soybean fields, Milyang, Korea, to conspecific stink bugs was evaluated. Both sexes of bean bug, Riptortus pedestris Fabricius (Hemiptera: Alididae), and one-banded stink bug, Piezodorus hybneri Gmelin (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), were attracted to conspecific male adults-baited traps.

Contact with insects can be a cause of pigmented rashes. We hope this image can help clinicians raise awareness of the clinically common, easily diagnosed disease and avoid unnecessary procedures.
