Attractiveness of conspecific stink bugs to adult stink bug-baited traps in soybean fields

Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology, 2012
The attractiveness of live adult stink bugs used as baits in traps in soybean fields, Milyang, Korea, to conspecific stink bugs was evaluated. Both sexes of bean bug, Riptortus pedestris Fabricius (Hemiptera: Alididae), and one-banded stink bug, Piezodorus hybneri Gmelin (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), were attracted to conspecific male adults-baited traps.

Classical biological control of invasive stink bugs with egg parasitoids - what does success look like?

Pest Management Science, 2020
Although the enemy release hypothesis forms the theoretical basis for classical (=importation) biological control of invasive pests, its core assumptions are not always examined.

Stink Bug Aldehydes

Agricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1965
The odorus and physiologically active substances of the secretions of Japanese stink bugs (six kinds of Pentatomidae and three kinds of Coreidae bugs) were identified. The secretions of Pentatomidae bugs contained trans 2-decenal as a main component. In the secretions of Coreidae bugs n-hexanal was always found and in the case of Acanthocoris sordidus ...

Injury to Preflowering and Flowering Cotton by Brown Stink Bug and Southern Green Stink Bug

Journal of Economic Entomology, 2004
The impact of brown stink bug, Euschistus servus (Say), and southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula (L.), injury was evaluated on preflowering and flowering cotton, Gossypium hirsutum L., plants in no-choice tests. Vegetative stage cotton seedlings and reproductive structures, including flower buds (square) and bolls, were infested with adults and/or

Effect of Trap Color and Residual Attraction of a Pheromone Lure for Monitoring Stink Bugs (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

Journal of entomological science, 2020
Stink bugs (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) are commonly monitored using pyramid traps baited with a pheromone. Initially, the pyramid traps were painted yellow and predominantly used to monitor native stink bug species.
