Solute redistribution in stir-cast Al-6Cu
Journal of Materials Science, 1989The solute distribution in stir-cast Al-6 wt % Cu alloy is more uniform than that in the conventionally cast (unstirred) alloy, solidified at the same cooling rate. The Bower-Brody-Flemings model of microsegregation was modified to take account of convective interdendritic (or intercellular) solute transport in the liquid.

Friction stir welding of aluminium casting alloys
Welding International, 2013The results of testing friction stir welding quality in relation to EN AC-43200 (AK9) and EN AC-45000 (AK64) aluminium casting alloys are presented.
