Investigation of the Performance of Thermodynamic Analysis Models for a Cryocooler PPG-102 Stirling Engine

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Three distinct thermodynamic analysis models are developed and applied to a renowned cryogenic engine (PPG-102), namely the isothermal model, the ideal Schmidt model, and the ideal adiabatic model. Through a comparative analysis, the theoretical outcomes

Bright Source of Purcell‐Enhanced, Triggered, Single Photons in the Telecom C‐Band

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Efficient non‐classical light sources can benefit a wide range of quantum applications, especially if emitting in the technologically appealing telecom regime. A bright source of highly pure single photons in the telecom C‐band is presented that is compatible with high repetition rates thanks to Purcell enhancement.

Electromagnetically induced transparency in indirectly coupled high‐temperature superconducting resonators

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 59, Issue 22, November 2023., 2023
In this study, electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is achieved in the microwave region using an experimental setup consisting of two indirectly coupled high‐temperature superconducting resonators. A physical explanation is provided for the transition between EIT and Autler–Townes splitting based on the superposition of dressed modes in a ...

Simple‐mix: Thermodynamics modeling in a Gama‐type Stirling engine with a working fluid mixture

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 5, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
“Simple‐Mix” is developed as an updated MATLAB code for thermodynamics modeling in a Gamma‐type Stirling engine with a working fluid mixture. The mixing ratio of the working fluid (air, helium, hydrogen, argon, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) could be considered for improving the Stirling engine performance.

Additively manufactured cryogenic microchannel distillation device for air separation

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Additive manufacturing enables the ability to produce porous wicking structures adjacent to larger openings (left) that is integrated into a distillation system (right) for air separation. The results within demonstrate the feasibility of using additive manufacturing to construct microchannel devices and pave a way for constructing MCD designs, which ...

Parametric Investigation and Univariant Optimization of Domestic Stirling Refrigerator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
As the temperature range of the cooling machine affects the cooling performance, parametric optimization of moderate temperature Stirling refrigerator has valuable concept. In this paper, a nonideal modified simple numerical model was used to investigate the effects of parameters and to propose optimized Stirling refrigerator design for moderate ...

Performance improvements in Stirling cycle machines by a modified appendix gap geometry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 46, Issue 2, Page 1180-1197, February 2022., 2022
Experimentally observed performance improvements of Stirling engines by a modified displacer seal geometry are reproduced by numerical modelling. Furthermore, they are theoretically confirmed by an enhanced analytical model based on a phasor analysis describing the cyclic state changes of the gas in the appendix gap above the seal. An easily applicable
