Refinements of the Bell and Stirling numbers [PDF]
We introduce new refinements of the Bell, factorial, and unsigned Stirling numbers of the first and second kind that unite the derangement, involution, associated factorial, associated Bell, incomplete Stirling, restricted factorial, restricted Bell, and $r$-derangement numbers (and probably more!).

ABSTRACT Objective The association between eating disorders (EDs) and both trauma exposure and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is well established. Existing evidence is inconclusive about the impact of trauma exposure and/or comorbid PTSD on ED treatment outcomes and if comorbid ED affects PTSD treatment outcomes.

Reciprocity for multirestricted Stirling numbers
AbstractMultirestricted Stirling numbers of the second kind count the number of partitions of a given set into a given number of parts, each part being restricted to at most a fixed number of elements. Multirestricted numbers of the first kind are then defined as elements of the matrix inverse to the matrix of corresponding multirestricted numbers of ...

ABSTRACT The provision of drinking water as one of the basic human needs is of great importance now. Today, many people in different parts of the world, especially in remote and rural areas, do not have access to fresh water. These areas usually have a high potential for using renewable energy.

Study of Stirling Engine Efficiency Coefficient under Conditions Being Close to Real Ones
An absolute internal efficiency coefficient of the Stirling engine has been obtained without regenerator and with regenerator under conditions when van der Waals gas serves as a working medium.

Search trees and Stirling numbers
AbstractSearch trees, specially binary search trees, are very important data structures thatcontributed immensely to improved performance of different search algorithms. In this paper, we express certain parameters of search trees in terms of Stirling numbers.

Parametric Study on the Performance of Gas Springs in FPSE With Pneumatic Supporting System
ABSTRACT The introduction of a pneumatic supporting system composed of gas springs and hydrostatic bearings in the free‐piston Stirling generator (FPSG) can effectively increase the power density of the nuclear space power plant. In this paper, a 1 kW FPSG with pneumatic supporting system was developed, and the working characteristics of dual gas ...

Test results of a Stirling engine utilizing heat exchanger modules with an integral heat pipe [PDF]
The Heat Pipe Stirling Engine (HP-1000), a free-piston Stirling engine incorporating three heat exchanger modules, each having a sodium filled heat pipe, has been tested at the NASA-Lewis Research Center as part of the Civil Space Technology Initiative ...

The Group of Generalized Stirling Numbers
AbstractIn this paper we provide an algebraic approach to the generalized Stirling numbers (GSN). By defining a group S that contains the GSN, we obtain a unified interpretation for important combinatorial functions like the binomials, Stirling numbers, Gaussian polynomials. In particular we show that many GSN are products of others.
