SOME REMARKS ABOUT STIRLING NUMBERS OF THE SECOND KIND

open access: yesJournal Human Research in Rehabilitation, 2013
In this paper we give a representation of Stirling numbers of the second kind, we obtain explicit formulas for some cases of Stirling numbers of the second kind and illustrate a method for founding other such formulas. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification. 11B73, 05A10.

Coping with climate emotions: A qualitative study using interviews and letters in remote, rural and small communities across Canada

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract The consequences of climate change are becoming more severe and widespread, highlighting the growing need to understand and address the emotional dimensions of the climate crisis. Although research on climate emotions has grown substantially over the past decade, empirical work on how people are coping with climate emotions is very limited ...

Assessing the Effect of Large Igneous Provinces on Global Oceanic Redox Conditions Using Non‐traditional Metal Isotopes (Molybdenum, Uranium, Thallium)

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 305-323., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

A note on λ-analogue of Lah numbers and λ-analogue of r-Lah numbers

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In this study, we introduce the λ\lambda -analogue of Lah numbers and λ\lambda -analogue of rr-Lah numbers in the view of degenerate version, respectively.

Space‐Efficient Logical Qubit Architecture with a Bus for Magic State Consumption

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a logical qubit architecture, considering the consumption of magic states. By constructing the patch to the magic state using the repetition code and data qubits using the surface code, the proposed architecture minimizes the number of qubits, referred to as the space cost.

Conformational bifurcation drives dual transport regimes in molecular junctions: Unsupervised machine learning insights

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
Conformational bifurcation in n‐alk‐1‐yne molecular junctions drives dual transport regimes, with unsupervised machine learning and XPS revealing distinct planar and skewed conformers influencing conductance and tunneling efficiency. This discovery highlights anchor‐group control as a key design principle for tailoring molecular electronic devices ...

Passive acoustic monitoring with AI‐based detection and identification reveal sooty grouse hooting patterns in western Oregon

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Many bird species are monitored using auditory point count surveys during the breeding season. Autonomous recording units (ARUs) can be used to better understand the daily and seasonal timing of when a species is vocalizing, which can help align surveys with the time period when the maximum number of individuals are present. We used ARUs to improve our

Statistics on Ordered Partitions of Sets and q-Stirling Numbers

open access: yes, 2006
An ordered partition of [n]:={1,2,..., n} is a sequence of its disjoint subsets whose union is [n]. The number of ordered partitions of [n] with k blocks is k!S(n,k), where S(n,k) is the Stirling number of second kind.

The Savage Worlds of Henry Drummond (1851–1897): Science, Racism and Religion in the Work of a Popular Evolutionist

open access: yesJournal of Religious History, EarlyView.
Abstract The savage was a familiar as well as deeply problematic figure in late‐Victorian literary and scientific imaginaries. Savages provided an unstable but capacious and flexible signifier to explore human development and human difference, most often in ways that followed a disturbing racial logic.
