Abstract The consequences of climate change are becoming more severe and widespread, highlighting the growing need to understand and address the emotional dimensions of the climate crisis. Although research on climate emotions has grown substantially over the past decade, empirical work on how people are coping with climate emotions is very limited ...

Ballan wrasse and lumpfish effectively reduce sea lice on salmon year round, although lumpfish struggle with cryptic lice, highlighting new considerations for lice management. Abstract BACKGROUND Cleaner fish play a crucial role in controlling caligid sea lice in Atlantic salmon aquaculture across the North Atlantic.

Space‐Efficient Logical Qubit Architecture with a Bus for Magic State Consumption
This paper proposes a logical qubit architecture, considering the consumption of magic states. By constructing the patch to the magic state using the repetition code and data qubits using the surface code, the proposed architecture minimizes the number of qubits, referred to as the space cost.

Commentary on Seersholm Et al.: Yersinia pestis Infection Is Not Synonymous With Deadly Plague in Neolithic Scandinavia. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Objectives Emerging genomic evidence has identified ancestral strains of Yersinia pestis in ancient human populations, which has sparked debates about its pathogenic role in later Neolithic societies. Here, we review published evidence linking anthropological and biological data reflecting the past natural history of Y.

Are boards reluctant to remove poorly performing successors to interim CEOs?
Abstract Research Summary Interim CEO appointments are disruptive and costly to firms. Boards justify them as necessary to find the right permanent successor. But what happens if that successor performs poorly? This paper argues that directors may be reluctant to remove a poorly performing successor to an interim CEO early in their tenure.

Conformational bifurcation in n‐alk‐1‐yne molecular junctions drives dual transport regimes, with unsupervised machine learning and XPS revealing distinct planar and skewed conformers influencing conductance and tunneling efficiency. This discovery highlights anchor‐group control as a key design principle for tailoring molecular electronic devices ...

Maximizing the detection probabilities of dusky grouse for population monitoring
Despite its status as a game species in the western USA, rigorous monitoring of dusky grouse Dendragapus obscurus populations is limited. Obtaining an adequate number of observations for effective population monitoring of dusky grouse is challenging due to difficult‐to‐reach montane habitats, cryptic behaviors, and limited personnel, time, and funds at

Many bird species are monitored using auditory point count surveys during the breeding season. Autonomous recording units (ARUs) can be used to better understand the daily and seasonal timing of when a species is vocalizing, which can help align surveys with the time period when the maximum number of individuals are present. We used ARUs to improve our
