Modified Generalized Stirling Numbers and Their Matrix Representation
This paper presents a comprehensive study of advanced classes of Stirling numbers within combinatorial analysis and discrete mathematics. The first class examined is the Comtet non-central Stirling numbers of the first and second kinds, which extend the ...

The dynamics of wild and alternative meat consumption across Gabon, Central Africa
Abstract Long‐term overharvesting of wild animals for their meat threatens wildlife and the people dependent on wild animal meat for their diets and incomes. Interventions to reduce wild meat consumption must be built upon a complete understanding of the roles of wild meat and its alternatives within food systems.

Abstract Forests and woodlands are important for biodiversity, climate change mitigation and the provision of services including recreation, timber and non‐timber forest products. Land use policies currently aim to increase forest cover while also maximising the benefits of forests for people and improving community engagement with the process of ...

The $t$-successive associated Stirling numbers, $t$-Fibonacci--Stirling numbers, and unimodality
Summary: Using a combinatorial approach, we introduce the \(t\)-successive associated Stirling numbers, and we give the recurrence relation and the generating function. We also establish the unimodality of sequence \(\left\{\frac{n-2k}{k}\right\}_{k}\) lying over a ray of the Stirling triangle of the second kind. Some combinatorial identities are given.

Ruchazie Family Centre - Evaluation, Year 1 Report 2015-2016 [PDF]
In 2014 the Quarriers were funded by the Big Lottery Fund (BLF) to extend their work at the Ruchazie family centre to engage more widely with parents/carers and their children. The University of Stirling was commissioned in 2015 to evaluate the programme

ABSTRACT This study examines how integrating sustainability through socio‐scientific issue (SSI) in secondary chemistry teaching shapes epistemic openness and closure from a decolonial perspective, as mediated through classroom discourse. Drawing on a co‐planned lesson on copper mining in Chile – a scientifically rich yet ethically and politically ...

Probabilistic degenerate logarithm and heterogeneous Stirling numbers
Let 𝑌 be a random variable whose moment-generating function exists in some neighborhood of the origin. While probabilistic Stirling numbers of the first and second kind have been introduced, early definitions often failed to satisfy fundamental ...

ABSTRACT The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are unlikely to be achieved by 2030, prompting debate about what should follow. Beyond revision, there is a need to critically examine what values and assumptions have shaped how the SDGs are conceptualised and operationalised.
