Gaia: segmented germanium detector for high‐energy X‐ray fluorescence and spectroscopic imaging
We present Gaia, a cryogenically cooled monolithic array of 96 high‐purity germanium pixel detectors integrated with a custom low‐noise application‐specific integrated circuit and a field‐programmable gate array‐based data acquisition system. The system achieves an average energy resolution of 711 eV at 122 keV and 253 eV at 5.89 keV, and serves as the

Woodland proximity limits benefits of conservation land management for farmland breeding waders
Where grassland breeding wader assemblages may be put at risk by tree planting, buffer zones >500 m should be implemented to mitigate the negative effect on wader species, with further distances having the greatest benefits. Equally, the benefits of conservation measures for breeding waders will be reduced within similar proximities to existing ...

Biodiversity–food trade‐offs when agricultural land is spared from production
Abstract Biodiversity conservation in agricultural landscapes, the world's predominant land use, could involve sparing, or setting aside, agricultural land from production, implying biodiversity–food trade‐offs. Employing bird species and agricultural data in two panel data sets, we evaluate the extent of set‐aside's trade‐offs in England between 1992 ...

Abstract Issue There is a growing alcohol‐free and low‐alcohol (no/lo) drinks market in Great Britain. Insight about when this emerged and how it has developed is needed to inform and interpret the growing body of research into the use of no/lo drinks. We therefore document the development of the no/lo market in Great Britain between 2011 and 2022 and ...
