Applying a Dynamical Systems Model and Network Theory to Major Depressive Disorder
Mental disorders like major depressive disorder can be modeled as complex dynamical systems. In this study we investigate the dynamic behavior of individuals to see whether or not we can expect a transition to another mood state.

Stochastic transition model for pedestrian dynamics
The proposed stochastic model for pedestrian dynamics is based on existing approaches using cellular automata, combined with substantial extensions, to compensate the deficiencies resulting of the discrete grid structure.

We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

Transfer-matrix DMRG for stochastic models: The Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton
We apply the transfer-matrix DMRG (TMRG) to a stochastic model, the Domany-Kinzel cellular automaton, which exhibits a non-equilibrium phase transition in the directed percolation universality class. Estimates for the stochastic time evolution, phase boundaries and critical exponents can be obtained with high precision.

Detecting proteins secreted by a single cell while retaining its viability remains challenging. A particles‐in‐particle (PiPs) system made by co‐encapsulating barcoded microparticles (BMPs) with a single cell inside an alginate hydrogel particle is introduced.

Quantification of the effect of spatial tumour sampling on the patterns of mutations detected in next-generation sequencing data is largely lacking. Here we use a spatial stochastic cellular automaton model of tumour growth that accounts for somatic ...

Stochastic Transition Model for Discrete Agent Movements
We propose a calibrated two-dimensional cellular automaton model to simulate pedestrian motion behavior. It is a v=4 (3) model with exclusion statistics and random shuffled dynamics.

A Soft Microrobot for Single‐Cell Transport, Spheroid Assembly, and Dual‐Mode Drug Screening
A soft, untethered hydrogel microrobot enables precise single‐cell delivery, self‐assembly into 3D spheroids, and real‐time thermal actuation. Driven by light‐induced convection and embedded with gold nanorods and temperature sensors, the microrobot guides cells, modulates local microenvironments, and supports drug testing.

Neighborhood Approximations for Non-Linear Voter Models
Non-linear voter models assume that the opinion of an agent depends on the opinions of its neighbors in a non-linear manner. This allows for voting rules different from majority voting. While the linear voter model is known to reach consensus, non-linear
