A Virtual Clinical Trial of Psychedelics to Treat Patients With Disorders of Consciousness

Advanced Science, EarlyView.
Disorders of consciousness after severe brain injury are marked by reduced complexity of brain activity and limited treatment options. Using personalized whole‐brain models, this study shows that simulated lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and psilocybin shift patient brain dynamics closer to criticality.

Schematic illustration demonstrating that hepatic Mettl3 depletion significantly elevates the secretion of Mif and Csf1. Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.
