Spontaneous emission and stochastic electrodynamics

Lettere al Nuovo Cimento, 1984
Einstein's spontaneous emission is considered as the emission induced by the zero point field of stochastic electrodynamics. Using this concept the transition probability per unit time is calculated.

Stochastic electrodynamics. I. On the stochastic zero-point field

Foundations of Physics, 1983
This is the first in a series of papers that present a new classical statistical treatment of the system of a charged harmonic oscillator (HO) immersed in an omnipresent stochastic zero-point (ZP) electromagnetic radiation field. This paper establishes the Gaussian statistical properties of this ZP field using Bourret's postulate that all statistical ...

Stochastic Electrodynamics General Considerations

1980
Stochastic Electrodynamics is a tentative to account for the peculiarities of quantum physics from a completely classical point of view. It has the advantage over many other attempts on that way to be physically well defined and to lead to equations which are not impossible to solve, so that it is possible to check the theory against experiment or ...

The origin of the solar system and stochastic electrodynamics

Il Nuovo Cimento C, 1980
The formulation of the magnetic field of rotating bodies, obtained within the framework of stochastic electrodynamics, and Hoyle's mechanism for the transfer of angular momentum are used in the proposed model of the origin of the solar system. The ensemble of numerical results obtained is in good agreement with observations.

Stochastic Electrodynamics and the Bell Inequalities

1985
The basic ideas of stochastic electrodynamics are presented. In the light of these ideas, some general differences between quantum mechanics and local realistic theories are pointed out. The atomic-cascade experimental tests of Bell’s inequalities are analyzed and a loophole is reported in the refutation of local realism due to an incorrect ...

Stochastic Electrodynamics: Methods and Results

1980
Stochastic Electrodynamics (SED) is a classical theory of particles and fields. The difference with respect to usual Electrodynamics is the assumption of a universal stochastic electromagnetic field (“background” field or “zero-point” field), which could be conceived as a classical counterpart to the vacuum field of Quantum Electrodynamics (QED).

The natural line-breadth in stochastic electrodynamics

International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 1974
The fact that the formalism of stochastic electrodynamics includes the reaction force, makes the calculation of the natural line-breadth straightforward. The evaluation of the relativistic correction to energy levels is greatly simplified in stochastic electrodynamics and brings out the concept of the propagation of the Coulomb field with the velocity ...

The Kepler Problem In Stochastic Electrodynamics

1980
Stochastic electrodynamics is the Brownian motion of a charged particle in a random electromagnetic field with spectrum proportional to kω3 coth(kω/2kT). If the deterministic force field is simple harmonic, the properties of the system resemble closely those of the quantum-mechanical oscillator, but the extension to non-linear systems has proved to be ...
