Stochastic Frontier Analysis using Stata [PDF]
This article describes sfcross and sfpanel, two new Stata commands for the estimation of cross-sectional and panel-data stochastic frontier models. sfcross extends the capabilities of the frontier command by including additional models (Greene, 2003, Journal of Productivity Analysis 19: 179–190; Wang, 2002, Journal of Productivity Analysis 18: 241–253)

Stochastic Frontier Models [PDF]
The stochastic frontier model was first proposed in the context of production function estimation to account for the effect of technical inefficiency. The inefficiency causes actual output to fall below the potential level (that is, the production frontier) and also raises production cost above the minimum level (that is, the cost frontier).

A Laplace stochastic frontier model [PDF]
We propose a Laplace stochastic frontier model as an alternative to the traditional model with normal errors. An interesting feature of the Laplace model is that the distribution of inefficiency conditional on the composed error is constant for positive values of the composed error, but varies for negative values.

Frontiers of stochastic electronic structure calculations [PDF]
In recent years there has been a rapid growth in the development and application of new stochastic methods in electronic structure. These methods are quite diverse, from many-body wave function techniques in real space or determinant space to being used to sum perturbative expansions.

Quantile Methods for Stochastic Frontier Analysis
Summary: Quantile regression has become one of the standard tools of econometrics. We examine its compatibility with the special goals of stochastic frontier analysis. We document several conflicts between quantile regression and stochastic frontier analysis.

A Bayesian approach to estimation, prediction and model comparison in composed error production models is presented. A broad range of distributions on the inefficiency term define the contending models, which can either be treated separately or pooled. Posterior results are derived for the individual efficiencies as well as for the parameters, and the ...

Bayesian stochastic frontier analysis using WinBUGS [PDF]
Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods have become a ubiquitous tool in Bayesian analysis. This paper implements MCMC methods for Bayesian analysis of stochastic frontier models using the WinBUGS package, a freely available software. General code for cross-sectional and panel data are presented and various ways of summarizing posterior inference are ...
