Stochastic unit commitment (SUC) is deemed as an efficient operational strategy to tackle with the uncertainty in power system. However, in order to implement SUC, a predetermined probability distribution function (PDF) P or finite scenarios for uncertain parameters is often required, whose true pattern is hard to obtain in real world due to various ...

Localization of sensor networks poses an immense challenge and is considered as a hot research topic in recent days. To address the accuracy on localization this paper proposes constrained simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) based localization techniques for wireless sensor networks.

Abstract The paper deals with a stochastic analysis of random displacements governed by isotropic elasticity equations. The elasticity constants are assumed to be random fields with gaussian distribution. Under the assumption of small fluctuations of elasticity constants but not ignoring their distribution and correlation structure, we ...

A simple convergent and analytical solution valid for the whole time range for the stochastic Verhulst equation is obtained by treating the strength of the external Gaussian white noise as a perturbation without using the existing approach where the moments are expressed by means of an integral representation.

Razumikhin Technique and BIBO Stability of Stochastic Delay Systems with Nonlinear Perturbations
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The problem of mean square bounded-input-bounded-output (BIBO) stability for the stochastic delay systems with nonlinear perturbations is investigated in this paper. Using the Razumikhin technique combined with comparison principle, several novel BIBO mean square stability criteria are established.

The space transformation method is applied to stochastic partial differential equations whose coefficients are random functions of space and/or time. Such equations constitute an integral part of groundwater flow and solute transport. A perturbation analysis based on Feynman- diagram expansions is proposed.

In this paper, nonlinear oscillators under cubic nonlinearity with stochastic inputs are considered. Two techniques are used to introduce approximate solutions, mainly; the Wiener‐Hermite expansion and perturbation (WHEP) technique and the homotopy perturbation method (HPM).

Abstract In this paper we explore the possibility of using stochastic optimizers, namely simulated annealing (SA) in locating critical points (global minima, local minima and first order saddle points) in Argon noble gas clusters perturbed by alkali metal ions namely sodium and potassium.

Moored dock under random waves: a stochastic perturbation and linearization technique
2006Aim of this paper is to predict the motion of a dock moored by a couple of cables in irregular waves. Wave forces, of random nature, are determined by a modified Morison equation. The nonlinear effects of the loads and of the cables governing equations are taken into account.
