Shuffled complex evolution coupled with stochastic ranking for reservoir scheduling problems

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2019
This paper introduces an optimization method (SCE-SR) that combines shuffled complex evolution (SCE) and stochastic ranking (SR) to solve constrained reservoir scheduling problems, ranking individuals with both objectives and constrains considered.

A scenario-based stochastic optimization model for charging scheduling of electric vehicles under uncertainties of vehicle availability and charging demand

open access: yes, 2020
The integration of electric vehicles (EVs) into the electricity systems comprises both threats and chances. A successful control strategy of EV charging processes is beneficial for both EVs and electricity grid.

Intelligent Acousto‐Electrical Metamaterials (IAM) for Sound Source Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our proposed metamaterial concept enables sound source detection using a single material, in contrast to conventional arrays that require dozens or even hundreds of transducers. We show that the coupled acoustic–vibrational–electrical responses in piezoelectric metamaterials give rise to topology‐governed charge transport, producing distinct voltage ...

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Tough, Ductile, and Strong Hard‐Soft Cementitious Composite Enabled by Multi‐Material Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

Room‐Temperature Skyrmionic Synapse in 2D Ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 Operating via Collective Spin Texture Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a neuromorphic synapse in 2D Fe3GaTe2 flakes. The device operates via a current‐driven transformation from a skyrmion‐lattice to a stripe‐domain state, yielding a linear anomalous Hall resistance response with a tunable slope to enable multiply‐accumulate operations. Simulations confirm its viability in artificial neural networks.

A Stochastic Drone-Scheduling Problem with Uncertain Energy Consumption

open access: yesDrones
In this paper, we present a stochastic drone-scheduling problem where the energy consumption of drones between any two nodes is uncertain. Considering uncertain energy consumption as opposed to deterministic energy consumption can effectively enhance the

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.
