Decentralized multivariate identification of interconnected systems by a stochastic subspace method

Proceedings of the 41st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002., 2004
In this work an identification methodology for decentralized multivariate identification of serial interconnected systems by a stochastic subspace method is proposed. The global system identification is made through the individual identification of these subsystems.

Stochastic subspace identification of linear systems with observation outliers

21st Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2013
We propose a diagnostic for the state space model fitting time series formed by deleting observations from the data and measuring the change in the estimates of the parameters. A method is proposed for distinguishing an observational outlier from an innovational one.

Uncertainty quantification for stochastic subspace identification on multi-setup measurements

IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011
In Operational Modal Analysis, the modal parameters (natural frequencies, damping ratios and mode shapes), obtained from Stochastic System Identification of structures, are subject to statistical uncertainty from ambient vibration measurements. It is hence necessary to evaluate the uncertainty bounds of these obtained results.

Realization of stochastic systems with exogenous inputs and subspace identification methods

Automatica, 1999
The paper solves the stochastic realization problem for a discrete-time stationary process with an exogenous input. The oblique projection of the future outputs on the space of the past observations along the space of the future inputs is factorized as a product of the extended observability matrix and the state vector.

Recursive stochastic subspace identification for structural parameter estimation

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
Identification of structural parameters under ambient condition is an important research topic for structural health monitoring and damage identification. This problem is especially challenging in practice as these structural parameters could vary with time under severe excitation.

Determination of flutter derivatives by stochastic subspace identification technique

Wind and Structures, 2004
Flutter derivatives provide the basis of predicting the critical wind speed in flutter and buffeting analysis of long-span cable-supported bridges. In this paper, one popular stochastic system identification technique, covariance-driven Stochastic Subspace Identification(SSI in short), is firstly presented for estimation of the flutter derivatives of ...

A subspace method for frequency selective identification of stochastic systems

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2008
A parametric method for the estimation of vector valued discrete-time stochastic systems or equivalently the spectrum of a stochastic process is presented. The key feature is that the method can be used to frequency selectively fit the model to the data.

Stochastic Subspace Identification Applied to the Weave Mode of Motorcycles

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 2013
This paper presents a safe and practical method for the identification of the weave mode of motorcycles without the need for the test rider to provide a deliberate lateral input to excite a large perceptible weave response. The solution utilizes stochastic subspace identification (SSI) and relies on the smooth surface of the road under normal steady ...

Subspace identification of combined deterministic-stochastic systems by LQ decomposition

Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010
In this paper, we revisit the realization-based subspace identification problem for combined deterministic-stochastic discrete-time LTI systems. Under the assumption that the past horizon is sufficiently large, we reveal a block lower triangular structure of an L-factor related to the stochastic component in the LQ decomposition of data matrix based on

Imminent Earthquake Analysis Based on Stochastic Subspace Identification

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
A novel imminent earthquake analysis method is proposed. Firstly, BHZ data are acquired from seismic networks, then, structure parameters of part of the earth are identified based on SSI (stochastic subspace identification); finally, imminent earthquake is analyzed based on the results of system identification.
