Concomitant meniscal repair and resection are not associated with ACL reoperation, and successful meniscal repair preserves patient‐reported outcomes: A 2‐year retrospective cohort study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare 2‐year anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) reoperation rates, subsequent meniscal procedures, patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) between isolated ACLR and ACLR with concomitant meniscal repair or resection, including subgroup analyses of successful and failed repair, respectively, repair laterality ...

Current concepts in isolated and combined injuries of the medial collateral ligament complex—Part I: Anatomy, biomechanics, clinical and radiological examination of the medial collateral ligament of the knee

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Injuries involving the medial collateral ligament (MCL), or combined injuries to both the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and MCL, are common and present considerable diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Better understanding of MCL anatomy and biomechanics, especially in combined ACL–MCL injuries, has driven the need for updated clinical ...

Current concepts in isolated and combined injuries of the medial collateral ligament complex, part II: The anteromedial knee instability classification

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract The medial collateral ligament (MCL) has a strong self‐healing capacity; nevertheless, not every MCL injury heals adequately. Persisting medial and anteromedial knee laxity should be avoided as it may lead to increased strains and wear of the surrounding tissue, including the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), meniscus and cartilage.

The Early Regenerative Events in the Human Tympanic Membrane After In Vivo Traumatization

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
At 20 h after in vivo traumatization a regenerative response in the human tympanic membrane is activated. The results show an upregulated proliferation activity in the UPT in early healing and confirm the previously described regenerative regions of the annulus and malleus.
