On the number of singular points of weak solutions to the Navier‐Stokes equations

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2001
AbstractWe consider a suitable weak solution to the three‐dimensional Navier‐Stokes equations in the space‐time cylinder Ω × ]0, T[. Let Σ be the set of singular points for this solution and Σ (t) ≡ {(x, t) ∈ Σ}. For a given open subset ω ⊆ Ω and for a given moment of time t ∈]0, T[, we obtain an upper bound for the number of points of the set Σ(t) ⋒ ω.

On the number of determining nodes for the 2D Navier-Stokes equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1992
The authors consider a two-dimensional problem for the Navier-Stokes system with periodic boundary conditions \[ u_ t-\nu \Delta u+(u\cdot\nabla)u+\nabla p=f, \qquad \nabla\cdot u=0, \qquad x\in R^ 2, \qquad t>0,\tag{1} \] \(u(x_ 1,x_ 2,t)=u(x_ 1,x_ 2+L,t)\), \(u(x_ 1,x_ 2,t)=u(x_ 1+L,x_ 2,t)\). Let \({\mathcal E}=\{x^ 1,\dots, x^ N\}\) be a collection

Carboranyl‐Curcuminoids for the Neutron Capture‐Based Treatment of Amyloid Aggregates in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 10B‐enriched monocarbonyl analog of curcumin (BMAC) 10B‐9 enables site‐specific Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) on amyloid‐β (Aβ) fibrils. Neutron irradiation induces histidine oxidation and fibril destabilization, as revealed by 1H‐NMR and FESEM analyses.

Efficient preconditioning of the linearized Navier-Stokes

open access: yes, 2001
We outline a new class of robust and efficient methods for solving subproblems that arise in the linearization and operator splitting of Navier–Stokes equations.

Bench‐to‐Bedside Translation of Self‐Healing Colloidal Hydrogels as Next Generation Design of Flowable Hemostatic Matrix: From Preclinical Evaluation to Human Clinical Trials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Self‐healing materials represent a paradigm shift in designing functional biomedical devices for drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and 3D bioprinting. However, their clinical translation remains limited by challenges such as insufficient mechanical strength, potential cytotoxicity from chemical modifications, and complex activation ...

Wave-driven ocean currents: how the conservative effects of Stokes transport induce large-scale currents

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science
Stokes drift associated with surface waves induces mass transport, which interacts with ocean currents to modify dynamics from situations without waves.

Extreme Polaritonic Interactions in a Room‐Temperature Designable Sub‐Nanocavity Quantum Electrodynamic Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoparticle‐cluster‐on‐mirror (NPcoM) serves as a functionally deterministic sub‐nanocavity that emulates picocavities, enabling extreme light–matter interactions and polaritonic phenomena. ABSTRACT Pushing nanoscale optical confinement to its ultimate limits defines the regime of nano‐cavity quantum electrodynamics (nano‐cQED), where light‐matter ...

A Molecular Engineering Strategy to Fine‐Tune Phototoxicity of AIE Probes for Super‐Resolution Imaging of Mitochondrial Cristae Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Regulation of molecular packing, phototoxicity, and ROS output of AIE photosensitizers is achieved through carboxylation and alkyl‐chain‐length tuning. The probe designed via this strategy enables super‐resolution visualization of inner‐mitochondrial‐membrane cristae dynamics under controlled oxidative stress, and fluorescence‐lifetime imaging of ...
