Effect of Reynolds Number on the Stokes Number of Cyclones
Aerosol Science and Technology, 1993By using dimensional analysis, the Stokes number based on the cut diameter was predicted to be a function of the Reynolds number and the geometry of the cyclone. Data from various investigators were plotted versus the Reynolds number. At lower Reynolds numbers, the Stokes number decreased with increasing Reynolds number.

Reynolds number dependence of isotropic Navier-Stokes turbulence
Physical Review Letters, 1993Reynolds number dependence of turbulence energy spectra and higher-order moments of velocity differences is explored by means of numerical integrations of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. The simulations have spatial resolutions up to ${512}^{3}$ and cover the range 15\ensuremath{\le}${\mathit{R}}_{\ensuremath{\lambda}}$\ensuremath{\le}200 ...

On the instability of Stokes layers at high Reynolds numbers
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2003The inviscid instability of Stokes layers is investigated. The Stokes layer is shown to support inviscid Floquet modes at sufficiently high values of the disturbance wavenumbers. Other non-Floquet modes are investigated and are shown to be the likely cause for instability in Stokes layers.

Evaluation of the Nusselt number for a fluid sphere in Stokes flow
Physics of Fluids, 2022The Nusselt number Nu is evaluated for an isothermal fluid sphere immersed in a Stokes flow. The dimensionless convective-diffusive conservation equation is solved asymptotically for the case where the Peclet number based on the sphere radius, ε, is small relative to unity. The Nusselt number is evaluated by integrating the derivative of the asymptotic
