A practical electrodialysis model for accelerating system development
Abstract Empirical optimization of electrodialysis (ED) is dependent on repetitive experiments with incremental adjustments, which is cost prohibitive at scale. While models can reduce the costs associated with optimization and scale‐up, existing ED models are limited in application to specific use cases and tend to be developed for the exploration of ...

Solid particles focusing, orienting, and de‐focusing in planar Poiseuille flow
Abstract Three‐dimensional, time‐dependent lattice‐Boltzmann simulations of neutrally buoyant particles in planar Poiseuille flow have been performed. The particles are spherical or cylindrical (the latter with a length over diameter ratios in the range 1/3 to 2) and have volume fraction ranging from virtually zero (one particle) to 0.15. The channel's

On the Stokes number and characterization of aerosol deposition in the respiratory airways
Aerosol deposition in the respiratory airways has traditionally been examined in terms of the Stokes number based on the reference flow timescale. This choice leads to large scatter in deposition efficiency when plotted against the reference Stokes number because the velocity and length scales experienced by advected particles deviate considerably from

Abstract Nanofluids containing nanoparticles represent a promising solvent or reaction system for gas–liquid operations. Herein, the effect of nanoparticle (Al2O3 and SiO2) addition on gas–liquid slug flow pattern and mass transfer enhancement was investigated during CO2 absorption into water in microreactors.

A Computational Approach for Biomimetic Design of Liver‐On‐A‐Chip
A biomimetic liver‐on‐a‐chip with antiparallel perfusion was designed using COMSOL‐guided simulation to replicate hepatic acinus transport. Full‐scale modelling revealed diffusion‐dominated, length‐dependent nutrient gradients and low‐shear conditions.

Evolution of Physical Intelligence Across Scales
By following the evolution of physical intelligence across scales, this article shows how intelligence arises from materials, structures, physical interactions, and collectives. It establishes physical intelligence as the evolutionary foundation upon which embodied intelligence is built.

Gradually bent perylene bisimides (PBIs) isolate structural distortion as the sole variable and exhibit negligible intersystem crossing, uncovering rapid vibrational dephasing as the dominant driver of internal conversion through excited‐state vibrational landscape reorganization.

Overcoming the Nyquist Limit in Molecular Hyperspectral Imaging by Reinforcement Learning
Explorative spectral acquisition guide automatically selects informative spectral bands to optimize downstream tasks, outperforming full‐spectrum acquisition. The selected hyperspectral data are used for tasks such as unmixing and segmentation. BandOptiNet encodes selection states and outputs optimal bands to guide spectral acquisition. Recent advances

Enhancement of Dissymmetry Factors Through Axial Elongation of Hetero[n]helicenes
A benzofuran scaffolding strategy enables the synthesis of hetero[9]‐, [12]‐, and [15]helicenes. Structural and chiroptical analyses demonstrate that systematic axial elongation increases helical distortion and significantly amplifies luminescence dissymmetry.
